The analysis of the status of China’s floating elderly population and its influencing factors
【Abstract】With the continuous development of China’s aging population and the increasing scale of floating population, the proportion of elderly population in floating population is also increasing. According to the 2015 Report on China’s Migrant Population Development released by the National Health and Family Planning Commission, the size of the floating elderly population has grown and the migration movement of the elderly population has become the norm. Public health services are one of the most important and basic aspects in the process of floating population enjoying equal basic public services, and the floating elderly population have caused more attention for their age and physical health. How to achieve the goal of public health services in different places through new rural cooperative medical insurance has been the most important problem for the floating elderly population. Based on the data of 2015 Migrant Population Dynamic Monitoring Survey in China, this paper describes the current situation of residence tendencies of floating elderly population in China from three aspects: personal characteristics, migratory characteristics and socioeconomic characteristics, and then this article studies the impact of relevant factors on residence tendencies of the floating elderly population through stepwise regression. Results show that personal characteristics such as age, gender and educational level have prominent impacts on the residence willingness of floating elderly population; population inflow region, migratory range, inflow duration and the reason have passed the significance tests from migratory characteristics and they have a significant effect on residence tendencies of the floating working-age population; all the socioeconomic characteristics have passed the significance tests except for the re-employment. Finally this paper provides the scientific basis for completing the basic public services and improving the social integration of the floating elderly population in China by these research results.
