To share people worldwide the experience of applying traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) against COVID-19, the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS), China Association of Chinese Medicine and other professional associations had joined hands with CNKI (https://www.cnki.net/) to successively hold two installments of “Global Public Lectures on Progress of COVID-19 Treatment with TCM” from April 21 to June 30.
The Association for Asian Studies (AAS), founded in 1941, aims to enhance studies and communication on academic information and achievements, further to promote Asian research. It has contained all disciplines of social sciences in Asia. Over the years, the memberships of AAS have increased to 8000, which became the largest in the world of relevant fields. The 2016 AAS annual conference covered 360 specific panel seminars and provided an important communication opportunity for all attendees interested in the study of Asia. Seminar on Bilingual Digital Publishing of Asian Studies Journals, as the hot spot in this conference, achieved success completely.
The 2016 International Conference on Integrated Development of Digital Publishing and Digital Libraries, held on July 11 at Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, was organized by Tsinghua University Library, the University of Hong Kong Libraries, Society for Chinese Studies Librarians, and China Academic Journals (CD Edition) Electronic Publishing House Co., Ltd.
The 21st biennial conference of the European Association for Chinese Studies(EACS) was launched in St. Petersburg, Russia on August 24th, 2016. This conference was co-organized by St. Petersburg State University, the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts RAS and the State Hermitage Museum. China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), was invited to attend and to give a keynote lecture in this meeting as a partner of EACS conference.
The First High-level Seminar on the Global Influence of Chinese Sci-Tech Journals was held in Wuhan International Conference and Exhibition Center on 24th September, 2016. This seminar was co-sponsored with the Chinese Academic Journal (CD) Electronic Journals Publishing House (CNKI) and China Press and Publishing Media Group, and supported by China Periodicals Association, China Editology Society of Science Periodicals and Society of China University Journals. More than 200 directors, editor-in-chiefs and other representatives from 140 outstanding Sci-Tech journals have attended the seminar. These experts discussed and explored the way to enhance global influence and core competitiveness of Chinese Sci-Tech journals.
In order to better serve the bilingual journals and communicate ideas about journal development, the International Publishing Center of CNKI held the Editorial Director Forum of the Journal Translation Project (JTP) at the Beijing Conference Center on November 23th, 2016. The conference aimed to communicate with the journals about the progress of JTP, the products of the bilingual data base, and JTP’s future direction. About 150 representatives of journals from all around the country attended the meeting, listened to the reports attentively, and discussed relevant issues.
On November 19th, 2015, the "Journal Internationalization in the Digital Age" themed symposium was convened in the Xiangshan Hotel. This conference was hosted by the China Academic Journals (CD Edition) Electronic Publishing House co., Ltd. Representatives of outstanding academic journals from different fields in China were gathered together in the Xiangshan Hotel, discussing the international problems of Chinese periodicals and China English journals respectively around the topics of academic journals' international situation, development orientation, and international strategies in the new circumstances.
