Measurement and analysis of the COVID-19 epidemic impact on China’s economy

Research objectives: this paper measures and analyzes the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic on China’s economy. Research methods: this paper uses event review method, vertical and horizontal analysis method, comparative static analysis method, and path analysis method. Research findings: the COVID-19 epidemic has an important impact on China’s economy, such as decrease in output, consumption, and investment, foreign trade limitation, financial intermediates risk rise, heavy losses in industrial development, and overall pessimistic mood in the financial system. China’s economic development is in a critical period, so it is important to strive for sustained economic development after the COV-ID-19 epidemic. Research innovations: through all-round information analysis, this paper explores the specific path and the important characteristics of the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic on China’s economy, industry and finance. Research value: this paper not only provides policy suggestions on policy level, industry level, innovation level and financial level for the resumption of production and the stabilization of economy after the COVID-19 epidemic, but also provides reference for the in-depth development of related theoretical research.
