In August 1945, according to the Yalta Agreement, the Soviet war against Japan broke out, which contributed to China's victory against Japan, Japan's surrender, and the end of World War II. At the same time, it reflected perfect military art and innovation. After the war, under difficult and complex circumstances, the Soviet military gave preferential treatment to the Japanese prisoners. They provided the prisoners with preferential medical, dietary, and living conditions. The reasons why the Soviet Union delayed the repatriation of Japanese prisoners were complex, one of which was Japan's anti-Soviet policies. In order not to withdraw its military force from Japan, the US supported Japan to deny the results of World War II, which resulted in“Northern Territories issues. Attempts to change the results of World War II would bring many new and old problems under domino effect, resulting in unpredictable consequences even more serious than World War II. This would possibly lead the world to a brink of explosion. World stability requires an objective assessment of history. Eliminating the common threat requires cooperative work.

In WW II, China theater is one of the three theaters of the Global War against Fascism, in parallel with European theater and the Pacific theater. Ignoring China theater is equal to ignoring the whole picture of the war and the Japanese aggression against Asian countries and people. China has fought and struggled for the longest time and sacrificed the most. As the largest land theater, China theater was characterized by the fighting that happened at points, in lines, and areas at the same time. China had greatly supported the Soviet Union, that could be dedicated to dealing with the German, avoiding a two-front war situation. For the United States, due to the role of China, Japan could not send all troops to the Pacific theater Southeast Asia. China’s great power status in World War II, is actually attributed to its huge contribution. Because of China’s insistence, Japanese Fascist army got into real trouble. Its failure is inevitable. In the process of resistance against Japanese aggression, the Chinese’s notion of nation and state had not yet fully formed at the beginning but it was awakened by the Japanese invasion. The main reason for Chinese troops’heavy losses was their weak firepower.
Imbalances exist in the political cooperation, economic development, and humanistic exchange among China, Mongolia, and Russia. The differences among the state actors in the conception of cultural identity and their positive and negative identification, reception, understanding, and interpretation of other state actors are the deeper cultural and psychological factors that cause the positive or negative effects in the inter-country international cooperation. During the process of constructing China-Mongolia-Russia economic corridor, humanistic cooperation and cultural identity are the essential and decisive factors in the cooperative prospects of the three countries. There are both discrepancies and shared knowledge in the cultural identity of China, Mongolia, and Russia. The humanistic cooperation among the three countries should observe the principle of multi-cultural identity with an aim to boost communication and cooperation in the aspects of talent development, scientific research, internationalized platform and provide humanistic foundation and intellectual support for the construction of China-Mongolia-Russia economic corridor.
As China has already risen to be a great power with important influence on international system, accompanying with the enhancement of its comprehensive national power, China's diplomacy needs to transit to “major country diplomacy”, which means to undertake more international responsibility. As a developing socialist country as well as an oriental country with special cultural tradition, China's major country diplomacy has demonstrated its features and style which is different from the Western countries' hegemonism. East Asia is an important region for China to explore how to put China's major country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics into practice. China tends to emphasize "mutual benefit and common development” in economy and shows its intention to provide more public goods for regional development; China breaks the institution constructing logic of “hegemonic stability” and advocates the construction of regional cooperation institutions on the principles of “equality and inclusiveness”; China emphasizes regional order conception which takes “community of shared destiny” as the core and is based on China's cultural tradition of “peace and harmony.”
