技术投入、对外开放程度与“资源诅咒”:从中国省际面板数据看贸易条件

【摘要】本文基于1997-2012年中国各省级面板数据,借鉴门槛回归模型揭示了技术投入和对外开放水平与“资源诅咒”现象之间的作用机理,检测了是否存在门槛效应,同时对门槛效应的影响进行了评估。得出以下结论:技术投入和对外开放水平对“资源诅咒”现象具有门槛效应,当技术投入和对外开放水平分别高于其门槛值0.0176和1.1653时,可以有效地改善资源和经济增长的关系,促进地区经济的发展;丰裕的自然资源不会阻碍地区经济的发展,地区经济产生“资源诅咒”的关键是资源依赖度;自然资源部门劳动密集型和低技术含量的特征使得技术投入和对外开放水平的程度是自然资源阻碍中国经济增长的主要影响因素。

Technology input, openness and “resource curse”: an examination of terms of trade with China's provincial panel data

【Abstract】Employing the threshold model and adopting provincial panel data from 1997 to 2012, this paper conducts an empirical study to reveal the interactional mechanism between technology input, openness degree and the “resource curse” phenomena, test the validity of the threshold effect and evaluate the influence of the threshold effect. The research finds that technology input and the openness degree have a threshold effect on the “resource curse” phenomenon; when technology input and openness degree are higher than the respective threshold values 0.0176 and 1.1653 they can effectively improve the relationship between resources and economic growth and promote regional economic development; abundant natural resources will not hinder the development of the regional economy, and the crux of the appearance of “resource curse” in the regional economy is resource dependency; the labor intensive and low–tech characteristics of the natural resource sector make technology input and openness degree the main influencing factors of natural resource hindering China’s economic growth.
